Differing Opinions

Kelly:
I do not think that the Virginia Tech massacre was a part of the conspiracy theory. I believe that the timing was just pure chance. Seung-Hui Cho was a man that needed help; I don't think he was a man that did this because it was mid-April. This happened because he had severe mental problems that he did not take care of. If Cho's disorders were treated, then the shooting may not have happened.

Aubrey:
I believe that this is part of the conspiracy theory. It is way too coincidental that all of these events happened in April. I don't believe that life is full of coincidences. Everything happens for a reason and these incidents were planned around the month of April. In the case of the Virginia Tech massacre, the suspect, Cho, purchased a few weapons a while before the shootings took place. He meant to wait until April for everything to happen, and he had everything planned out. The day the attack took place, he sent pictures and videos of himself with guns to a news station. He knew exactly when he wanted to harm all of his victims and it was because of the conspiracy theory.

Jessie:
I agree with Kelly, this massacre did not happen just because it was the month of April. There are many massacres and tragedies that occur throughout the year, not just because of the month of April. It's hard to believe that these terrifying events occured because it was April especially when events happening in April are so spread out. They're not all occuring in the same year or anything close to that, they are many years apart and I do not believe they have anything to do with eachother. There is no proof to prove that these massacres were planned at a specific time, I believe that there were multiple reasons and problems that sparked these incidents. The Virginia Tech shooting is an example,  Seung-Hui Cho had many problems and conflicts that led up to his killing that were unnoticed and not taken care of. There were many signs that were shown leading up to his killing spree, he had many problems including autism and past assaults and he should of been watched carfully.

Brittney:
I agree with everyone in my group that this incidence is not a conspiracy. Nowhere does it say that Seung-Hui Cho had planned to do this terrible deed in the month of April. I believe that this happen because he was a very mentally ill person and wanted revenge on someone or something. I do not think that when he planned to do this he thought that to do it in April. It is a coincidence that all of these tragedies happen during this month.
